Applications:
The mechanism of action of pyriproxyfen is similar to that of insect juvenile hormone, and it mainly works by inhibiting the synthesis of chitin in pests. Chitin is an important component of the insect cuticle. The inhibitory effect of pyriproxyfen prevents the insects from forming cuticles during molting, which in turn prevents the eggs from hatching into larvae and the pupae from emerging into adults, thus killing the insects.
Pyriproxyfen has a good control effect on a variety of agricultural pests, such as whiteflies, tobacco whiteflies, scale insects, diamondback moths, beet armyworms, armyworms, pear psyllids, thrips, etc. At the same time, it can also be used to control pests such as sweet potato whiteflies.
