Applications:
In agriculture, 2,3,5-Triiodobenzoic acid is widely used in soybean production. By spraying soybean plants with a solution of 2,3,5-Triiodobenzoic acid, the plants can be made shorter, branches increased, and the pod-setting rate increased, thereby increasing soybean yields. This substance can inhibit the polar migration of auxin and reduce the effectiveness of auxin, and is often used in studies on the inhibition of polar migration of auxin. At appropriate concentrations, 2,3,5-Triiodobenzoic acid has the effect of promoting flowering and inducing flower bud formation, which is particularly important for increasing soybean yields.
